Art School Girlfriend (aka Polly Mackey)'s first new music since her sombre yet completely satisfying debut EP Measures, sees Mackey delving darker and simultaneously embarking on an icy exploration of rich electronic textures. Picking up the pace a little from her previous downbeat cuts like 'Bending Back' and the EP's title-track 'Measures', 'Moon's brassy synthesizers, bleating sequencers and distant guitar parts echo influences from Depeche Mode's 'Love In Itself' to Warpaint and the cool electronica of George Fitzgerald. It's understated, beautiful and utterly infectious.
